TESDA has recently launched its program in a bid to help OFWs affected by the pandemic. Read the whole story.
Good news to Overseas Filipino Workers who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the TESDA has announced that it is offering free training for them.
Some of the free courses offered by TESDA for OFWs include training on Agricultural, Forestry, and Fishing; Electrical and Electronics; Automotive and Land Transport; Human Health; Baking; and a lot more.
Of course, since online selling has recently become a trend because of the pandemic, TESDA is also offering training in this field to help displaced OFWs in this time of crisis.
TESDA Deputy Director John Bertiz said in an interview at PTV that OFWs will be trained how to sell their products in an effective manner on the Internet.
"Ang maganda po niyan, yung pwede silang magbenta, yun kanilang natutunang produkto, packaging, tapos kung paano po pagandahin iyan sa Internet, ituturo rin po iyan ng TESDA," said Bertiz.
The TESDA has launched its TESDA Mobile Application to make it easier for OFWs to register online.
All they have to do is to download the TESDA app, register, and fill out the form.
Even if an OFW is still outside the Philippines, they can still take advantage of the free online courses offered by TESDA specifically for them.
As soon as they arrive in the Philippines, they can always head on over to TESDA training centers so they can develop their skills and they can undergo the necessary assessment so that they can get their much-needed certification.
This latest program of TESDA is dubbed "TESDA Abot Lahat ang OFWs." It aims to give them "more accessibility to the services" that TESDA offers.
The app can be downloaded on both App Store and Google Play Store at no cost.
Another good news for OFWs is that the agency has established the TESDA Malasakit Helpdesks situated at airports to provide services to OFWs arriving in the country.
