in Canada.

Santos, best known for her time with
long-standing GMA TV show, “Unang Hirit” shared a photo of herself on Instagram
Wednesday, as an official member of the OMNI News Filipino Edition team.
The veteran news anchor was pictured in a
studio in what appears to be a live TV news broadcast. Along with the photo,
Santos wrote a caption saying, “marking this day that I’m able to do my passion
to tell stories that matter to my ‘kababayan’ here in Canada. You will all meet
the Filipino team of OMNI News in the coming days. It’s not only Filipinos and
Fil-Canadian journalists making this possible.”
To address the people who have taken part in
the new chapter in her career, Santos acknowledged the “Canadians and people of
diverse backgrounds.”
“A big part are the Canadians and people of
diverse backgrounds whom I’m given the opportunity to work with that make OMNI
News Filipino Edition happen,” she continued.
In a short video she shared on Tuesday, Santos,
along with some of her Filipino peers, officially introduced OMNI News Filipino
Edition.
On the caption of the post, the 41-year-old also
revealed that she is now a part of Rogers Sports and Media.
“Proud to be part of @rogerssportsandmedia
that has shown a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion,” she wrote.
She went on saying that the team caters to an
array of stories of Filipino and Filipino-Canadians along with stories that
matter in the community.
Santos worked for GMA Network for 19 years before moving to
Canada with her family last year. Even to this day, she is still considered
as one of the most notable TV newscasters in the Philippines.
